first haircut

yesterday was such a big day!

you had your first haircut.  it was probably long overdue. but, we just couldn't decide if we should cut it, or tough through the stringy mullet, hoping for a brighter future.  truthfully, you've had a lot of good hair days in the last couple of weeks...which made it hard to go through with the play. and honestly, i just don't like the idea of you growing up... and losing that baby hair makes it a little more real.  but, the decision was made.... you were getting your first haircut.

we'd been crummy and snotty and blah for a couple of weeks, so we kept pushing back "the day." or maybe i was making excuses.

but, this was the weekend.

we were so excited that grandma and pa surprised us with a weekend visit (hooray! more on that another time), so they got to join during this very monumental moment in the life of a little lady ;)

i'm sure we'll have ups and downs of haircuts and dos during our time... but, i must say i am a fan of this classic little blunt cut bottom, swept to the side with a big bow.

it was a tiny trim. but, it sure looks clean and sweet :)

you sat on the big four wheeler like a champ.  not a smiling champ. not a crying champ. but, a big girl champ that made this mommy, daddy, grandma and pa very proud.  you started staying "all done" about 3.5 seconds into the cut... but thankfully, mr. will is very, very fast and you were very patient until the end. :)

i think it helped that his entire salon is literally covered with toys. it was a fun first :)

when you were finished mr. will looked at you and said "little girl, God has blessed you with very, very fine hair." ha. this is so true. you can thank your daddy for that! :) but, it is so pretty.... i wouldn't have it any other way.
