christmas card outtakes: just you

it's silly. but, i really wanted a tartan plaid bow for your pretty red dress. i couldn't find one in time to go to texas. but, when we got back to tulsa, we had one made at kathleens kids, then headed to the garden center to try for some shots of just you.

it was kind of spittin' rain... pretty cold... and you pooped as soon as we lugged the camera bag and eachother to the middle of the park. guess what? we just toughed it out and took pictures in your poop. it was so cold, we didn't stay long. regardless, we really had a lot of fun. just us. wintery weather. a beautiful girl and lots of room to run.

i left doubting that we got much. and really we didn't get any true showstoppers. but, i do think we got a pretty good summary of our day and you as a 19 month old. on the move, silly, very curious and beautiful.

christmas card outtakes

i thought you'd like to see some of the pictures we had to work with for this years card. we really never take a good family picture. they're actually quite comical. your dad detests picture-taking in every way. you are a toddler. bertie is spastic when confined. and i'm just awkward when on the other side of the camera. you put us together... oh goodnes!!

grandma and laura are always sweet to help us. we were in martins mill to celebrate mama's 89th birthday...we carved out some time between first monday, an ou football game, and birthday celebrating to throw ourselves together and smile for the camera (sort of).

some of these are decent. some are very laughable.

even if we are an awkward-family-photograph family... i'm so thankful for you and dad and bertie! it makes me love even the worst of pictures (well, almost!)

2011 christmas card

i thought our card was sweet this year. i wish i was more prepared and spent more time on it earlier in the season... but it always seems like it's my last card to design... and i just kind of throw it together. i wish i would have spent more time on the back... but i'm still pleased with it. i LOVE how the front is one huge picture of you. who cares about the back anyway!!?/ :)
